I received an email last week from Notty Black’s manager, P.L. Griffin, saying that Notty’s track “Freaky Song” was going to be released on the radio March 2nd.
If you downloaded Notty’s mixtape, Gloctober, you are probably familiar with it. It featured none other than Tallahassee Hero, T-Pain. It was actually one of my favorite joints on the mixtape, and we even Featured it on NightSkewl.
I can remember thinking to myself that this song has real commercial potential. It wasn’t JUST a T-Pain sample that everyone was doing when Gloctober was released. It was an actual track they had done together.
For all of you who are not up to date on the history between Notty and T-Pain, let me give you a quick rundown: They were both in the rap group Nappy Headz, out of Tallahassee, FL. and enjoyed some pretty good success off of the song Robbery. Quick enough?
P.L. sent me over the track, and I think the re-work they did on the songs is awesome. Not only did Notty deliver the verses even better, but Pain did his thing on the hook!
While I thought the previous version had single potential, this Radio version PROVES THAT IT IS!
Check the Newest version of “Freaky Song” that is hitting the radio today, and download it from iTunes.
