Young Simmons “Most Improved Player” (Mixtape Review)

Young Simmons aka JoJo Simmons drops his first major mixtape “Most Improved Player”, of course you already knew Skewln.com would cover the story. Once I got word the mixtape was dropping, I had to get acquire a copy. Now I know many of you remember Jojo from “Run’s House” but I had to completely clear my mind of the show in order to give him a fair and honest review, cause quite frankly thats what we do.

Regardless if you think hes a spoiled immature brat, the bottom line is he can’t help he was born rich, and if I can help it I hope my kids are born rich as well. There’s no “Supreme Count of Hip Hop” to detemine if a person is allowed rap or not, so it is what it is. If you don’t like Jojo personally, go to one of those hate socials blogs and let off some steam…

On to the mixtape itself, the mixtape was better then excepted. No disrespect to Jojo but I expected the mixtape to be 100% garbage. I felt that way , because I couldn’t think of anything this guy could really talk about subject wise. Okay ,I was wrong. For the most part Jojo used the mixtape to address his haters, critics, and more haters. Thats pretty much what the mixtape was about, exception of a few female tracks.

Rapping wise, once again he’s better then expected but I don’t really know how to gauge it, because the expectations were so low. To be fair , his flow was better then expected. His beat section was the best part of the mixtape, he did a good job picking out his beats. The industry beats I thought he butchered some of those, but on the in house beats he did okay.

Overall the mixtape didn’t suck, but it was far from a classic.Keep in mind its only his first mixtape, not many first time mixtapes have been considered classics at first glance. As always Skewln.com will be following Jojo and keeping you updated as his career continues. I advise the people to download the mixtape for yourself in order to make you own opinion or judgement of the the ” Most Improved Player” mixtape.
