Respect is past due when it comes to the west. Since Pac died the West has never really been the same. With the exception of Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and The Game, the West Coast hip hop scene has been invisibile on the main stream level for over the last 10 years.
I’m a huge West Coast fan, so I know there’s a load of young, dope West Coast rappers that has been doing their thing for the last decade. Yukmouth, Guerilla Black, Crook I, are just a couple. Contrary to popular belief, there’s always been dope Mc’s on the west, but for whatever reason the media, and a lot of East radio stations, don’t play West Coast music. Its kind of like it was back in the day when you had N.W.A struggling to get plays on the East.
I live in Chicago, aka Midwest, and I never hear West Coast music out here. I’ll do you one better, Black Wall Street’s X.O released a video ” City Burn” and WorldStar released the video almost a full week after Skewln.com released it on March 29th. Thats a little ridiculous to say the least.
Regardless to what the rest of the world is doing, Skewln.com is committed to finding and showing respect to dope up and coming artists. In the future I going to premiering ever more dope Mc’s from the west like Kendrick Lamar, Kendre, Jay Rock , Juice, Nipsey Hussle, Bishop Lamont etc.
On this Track some of Cali’s up and coming, home-grown Mc’s join forces for a fire hit called “HoweTown” featuring Glasses Malone, Jay Rock, and XO (Prod. By The OCS)
