We first mentioned Tunecore last week in the article I did about their Digital Distribution. I had made mention of how the company has arrangements with some of the leading digital distributors, and how to go through the set up process to get your music on iTunes, Amazon MP3 and Rhapsody.
Well now, Tunecore has announced that they have struck a deal with Spotify. Spotify is currently available in seven European markets, with over 7 million users!
Additionally, they offer instant access to the music you want through a simple platform. They have an “ad-supported so it is free-to-the-user” model and a Premium, paid subscription model.
TuneCore will also host and serve a Spotify/TuneCore co-branded landing page that is linked to Spotify, providing a way for any artist to get their music delivered to Spotify. www.tunecore.com/spotify
The Spotify deal is the latest addition to a growing list of digital music services. @Tunecore posted a tweet this morning announcing that the company was planning on adding a new service each month.
They also tweeted out yesterday that artists were getting their music on iTunes within hours, some as fast as 28 minutes. Like I said in the previous article, it is not guaranteed, but it looks like Tunecore’s process is so clean that music is passing on through to iTunes. Read more about it here.
If you are serious about getting your music out their in the digital world, now would be a good time to start!
