Reverbnation Updates “My Band” Facebook App for Artists [Video]

I have talked about ways to get your Facebook Page a little more music friendly. We all know that Facebook is not as music friendly as Myspace, but we all seem to be spending majority of our time there.

Today, Reverbnation has updated their “My Band” Facebook app with a new layout and even more promotional features. It has been geared to get your fans to engage more by focusing on your music, joining your mailing list, and going to your shows.

Like RootMusic, getting the app onto your Facebook page is simple, and will add a “My Band” tab to your profile.

Here are some of the cool features:

  • My Band is integrated with your existing ReverbNation account
  • You don’t have to re-enter your data or re-upload your content to yet another website – it will show up automatically
  • Large custom banner at the top of the page, which is linkable!
  • Fans can join mailing list with one click
  • Enhanced music player
  • You can allow fans to download songs in exchange for them joining your mailing list
  • Integrated Reverb Store
  • Promote shows with a map
  • Displays your aggregate friend/fan count total by adding together your facebook fans, MySpace friends, Reverb fans, and your mailing list.

Conclusion

For those of you who have been following our Reverbnation articles, and are members, I would highly recommend that you give this app a go on your Fan Page.

Even if you are not selling merch or have a sh*t load of shows coming up, it is still a powerful feature that can easily be added to your page. Remember, you can always build up and add new features as your career progresses…But you have to start now!

Let us know if you try this out!
