Awesome Design Guide for the New Myspace Artist Profile

In order for you to still have a pimp-ass Myspace Band page, you have to know how to design the new layout.

Well, the good folks at Myspace have released their “MySpace Music Artist Sites Design Guide”!

According to Myspace Music, all the new features were implemented to “facilitate better artist to fan interaction, allowing your fans to stay more engaged on your pages for longer periods of time in a way that was never available before.”

The Guide is 16 pages and touches on the most important topics that you need to know to get rolling on your new look!

Topics

  • Build Your Own Theme – Background
  • Build Your Own Theme – Colors
  • Build Your Own Theme – Fonts
  • Build Your Own Theme – Styles
  • Build Your Own Theme – Layouts
  • Create a Custom Marquee
  • Create Custom HTML
  • Modules
  • Move My Modules

The Guide comes complete with step-by-step instructions and idiot-proof screenshots.

I really like the Modules section, and they even have Recommended Modules for Artists. This is a good feature to have because some of the Modules may not get used at all, and you can remove them easily. I also like the fact that you can move your Modules around, and place what is most important at the top.

Myspace has removed CSS from the new profiles. This removal comes from feedback the company has received. (It’s also probably due to the fact that users had no idea what they were doing and were creating terrible pages!)

They have, however, come out with better customization tools for personalizing your page.
