If you haven’t noticed lately 50 cent has been interacting heavily with the public. Some may think this is something out of the blue, but let’s be honest 50 cent is trying to rebuild his image. Although 50 cent has had ridiculous amount of success in the last 7 years, its no secret the public along with many of his peers despise him.
The reasoning for folks hating him is broad, and would take days to dissect. Instead I want to focus on the obvious reason, its plain and simple, people think he’s an ass hole. The world sees him as a bully who picks fights for the fun of it.
50 may feel different, but there’s no doubt in my mind he knows he has to stop the bleeding and fast. Earlier this year I won’t an article entitled “What happened to 50 cent” and in that article I break down 50’s first 6 years in the game. Albums sells, popularity, money, etc. When you look at the factually numbers there’s no denying the stats, the man has taken a serious hit. I’m not going to go as far and say the man is finished, so let’s not get carried away just yet.
Operation repair 50 is in full effect, but believe it or not this campaign started before his recent Before I Self Destruct album flopped. Last year he made an effort to untied New York rappers by throwing an event with NY emcees, even a few emcees he once battle like Jadakiss. This event didn’t save his album, but it was only the beginning. About a month ago 50 finally embraced Twitter, and it’s been murder she wrote.
With 3 + million followers his tweets have been echoing throughout the hip hop community. Of course 50 is still being typical 50 at times with posting provocative tweets about other celebrities. My personally favorite is his new dog called “Oprah bitch” Hilarious! You already know Peta jumped all over him for that Allah Mike Vick.
He has had some hilarious tweets back in forward with other rappers, celebrities and fans. At times it seems it’s been all play, but that’s not the case. 50 has made it clear is he’s working on his new album and promises a classic album. I been hearing collaboration names I never thought I would hear in connection with 50 cent, like Kanye West, T Pain and shockingly, Soulja Boy. Yes, I said Soulja Boy, can you believe it.
The new attention 50 cent has been receiving has helped him in the public eye. He just signed a $200 million deal with a production company. That’s like his Coco Cola money. That’s a good look, but it remains to be seen if all this new attention will add up to album sells. I have a funny feeling this is the beginning of 50’s return to the top. Only time will tell.

I agree with everything you said except calling BISD a flop. The album didn’t sell as expected but it still went gold.
Thanks! 50 going Gold doesn’t even go together. It would be like saying Kobe Bryant and the Lakers got to the Western Conference finals and lost…but it was a good season. Doesn’t work that way. When you take in to consideration his last album first weeks sells we’re around 800k and the massacre did 1.4 million in a week. 800k – 160k = 640k drop off, not good. Not to mention the amount of money promotion wise that was spent to push this album. I don’t know if you know this or not but the album also came with a 90min movie starring 50 cent himself. So you have an full album plus a movie and he goes Gold ? Ouch. BISD was a good album music wise , I personally enjoyed it. One of the major sign that shows me his album was losing cause is his album came out Nov 9th 2009 and his latest single for that album was release on Jan. 16 . just two months after releasing his project. There has not been another single after that and its almost November again.
What most people fail to realize is that BISD leaked a full month before it’s release date. 160k after a 1 month period of your album being leaked is a remarkable number. Rick Ross did just under that in his first week and his album didn’t even leak. Something to think about.
