I haven’t met an artist yet that doesn’t want to make money off of their music; From selling $5.00 mixtapes, to digital distribution.
Soundcloud provides an API that allows developers to use their platform, and Minno (the easy-to-use micropayment system) has done just that with SoundRain. The founders of the company are former Google employees, and according to the SoundCloud blog, created the service only 8 days ago at the Music Hack Day in San Francisco.
To begin selling your tracks all you need to do is connect your account with SoundRain and select the tracks you wish to sell for $0.99. When one of your fans decides to purchase one of your tracks, a “Buy with Minno” button with show up on the SoundCloud player, where the fan will be taken directly to SoundRain to complete the purchase.
You get paid only when you have sold $10.00 worth of tracks, in which SoundRain will send the payment via PayPal.
We use the SoundCloud platform a lot, and so do majority of the artists on Skewln so I am glad to see this new feature.
