For those of you who have been following us for a while might remember us talking about Skewln.com’s first mixtape, “Certified”. We never had an actual release date, but we were shooting for the first part of the year. There were a lot of things going on that caused us to push back the release, but Mike Real has made it his mission to get the rest of the mixtape put together.
Real has been working on a track called “P**** So Right” as the lead song on the mixtape. The record also serves as the official SmutFest Anthem for all you players out there. Since the idea and concept was completely his, I thought we should turn the tables on him, and get him to speak about the release and what went in to putting the song together.
“The SmutFest Anthem is finally here”, Real said. “We ran into a little bump in the road, but it was nothing more then a little speed bump. I’ve aways enjoyed putting together Mega tracks with artists from different Markets. When you’re Indie it’s important to be able to hit new markets. It’s also important to network with other artists who can reach the markets you physically can’t. With this track, we were able to put together a dope combination of talent from different regions: Young Legit is out of Atlanta, Skinny P is out of Florida, Kritikal comes from Staten Island, New York, and J-Riv is out there in Tucson, Arizona.”
I asked Mike if he knew who he initially wanted on the track, he had this to say: “For the most part I knew exactly who I wanted on the track. Everything didn’t go according to plan at first, so I had to call up Mariano Rivera to close it out for us (Lol). This track is an attention getter, it’s to get folks aware that the Certified mixtape is coming.”
Check out the SmutFest Anthem, and let us know what you think!
