Headphone War: New 50 cent & Ludacris Headphones Hit The Streets, What Brand You Rockin’?

The last few years Dr Dre’s “Beats by Dr. Dre” headphones have been advertised all over the place. I see people walking on the streets, in the subway, and on TV with them on here and there. The headphone business seems to be extending as of late with other rappers such as Luda and 50 cent releasing their very own versions.

First up we have the new SMS Sync by 50 cent wireless headphones. You can get them in snow white or black. Some of the features include: 50 feet of leeway from the audio source along with the ability to sync up to 4 pair of headphones to one audio brain. That’s dope! The new Sync 50 cent wireless headphones will hit your pockets for $399+ tax. Yikes, but that seems to be the going rate for these celebrity head phones these days.

If $400 is too steep for you he has a step down called Street by 50 cent. The pair has a detachable cord to prevent tangling, and it also comes with memory foam ear pads. Yea, so you can enjoy the whole “Tempur-pedic” experience for your ears (Lmao!!). The Street by 50 headphones goes for $299+ tax.

On to another emcee in the headphone business is Atlanta rapper Ludacris. He currently has an alternative brand called Soul headphones. His top featured headphones are called SL 300GG Elite Hi-Definition. Looks like these have a detachable wire, but one of the cool features is it’s a noise cancellation product. I know Bose advertised a few pair years ago, but these Soul headphones will cost you $299+ tax.

In the next few weeks I will seek to rate all three (Dre Beats, Sync 50 cent, and Soul) of these headphones. I’m going to check out a pair of each and also contact a few sound engineers to find out what they are using in the studio. To date I see most engineers using Sony headphones in the studio; I don’t see Beats by Dr. Dreheadphones in the studio. Since there’s so many to choose from these days we want to know what type of headphones you use on a daily basis. Let us know!
