The great Magic Johnson is launching his very own TV network. The network will be called Aspire.
The new network’s vision is to show African Americans in a positive light. I’m personally excited about this development, because it’s no secret BET has fallen off since the departure of Bob Johnson.
I can honestly say I watch no more then an hour of BET in a week, tops. Most of the time it’s less then five or ten minutes spent on that channel. TV One is another story; I actually enjoy that channel. There’s normally something quality in the lineup on a daily basis.
I know the new Oprah network doesn’t seems to be doing too great right now, but hopefully Magic can find good writers and programs to appeal to the community. I’m pulling for the Lakers legend…
