Lakers Are On The Ropes …. Again!

The Lakers are on the ropes… Again! This Lakers vs. OKC series reminds me of the Lakers, Mavs series last year.

If you’re a Lakers fan I’m sure you remember the epic beat down.

Game 1 of this series reminded me of game 4 from last year minus the decapitation of J.J Barea by Andrew Bynum, and game 2 reminded me of game 3 from last year when the Lakers lead down the stretch up until the last minute of the game.

Watching last night’s game made me sick to my stomach. I didn’t pick the Lakers to win this series, but quite frankly I didn’t expect the Lakers to get swept again. Oh yes, you read right… The Lakers will get swept…. Again! Back to Back baby! (Dickey V Voice)

Of course the Lakers have a chance to win both games at Staples, but do we really think that’s going to happen? It’s hard to get this team to show period, let alone show up twice on a back to back against arguably the best team in the league.

Let’s face it; This Lakers roster is done. I said it last week, and I’m going to say it again, this Laker team is not a championship team, period. I’m one of the biggest Lakers fans on the planet, but I’m a Realist, so I refuse to sugar coat it.

Kobe Bryant is one of the greatest players to ever play this game, but my main man Kobe aka The Black Mamba is past his prime. The world keeps expecting him to be Superman every time the Lakers need a win, but lets look at the facts; this is Kobe’s 16th year in the league.

The guy has been playing in the NBA since Jesus was a baby (Not literally). Although he has shattered the records for players playing in their 16th season, the facts still remain… It’s still 16 years of professional miles on your body.

He’s still a great player, but if you’re expecting the old Kobe to show up on a daily basis, get a grip, it’s over.

Kobe is going to be around going forward, but his cast is going to have to change. Pau Gasol will probably be shipped out this summer, Andrew Bynum maybe as well, who knows, but this team needs a change.

At this point the Lakers have lost 11 out of their last 19 playoff games. Does that sound like a Championship team to you?Look, come Saturday night it’s going to be like…

“That’s it son, you’re done! There’ll be another day” (Mills Lane voice)
