80’s Baby is a full balanced project, 19 tracks (including interludes) of quality music. I would describe the mixtape as cruising, club, and block party music. It’s far from basement rap, but don’t misconstrue that to be gimmicky music. There are a lot of serious tracks on the mixtape that have substance. Six Reasons deals with a range of different topic on 80’s Baby.
A few tracks in Super Star Six teams up with Lemarvin and created Monogamy. The song talks about relations, and commitments. Definitely one of the highlights on the project, but it doesn’t stop there with the Six & Lemarvin. The two also teamed up on Fuss Fight F**k.
“I don’t hate you, I just hate the Shit you do”
Pinky Swear featuring Johnny G is a very profound track where Six talks about being a responsible father. The song addresses not having a daddy to show him how to be a daddy. It’s yet another track that adds substance to the project.
Of course there are fun tracks like Raindance featuring Too Short. Michael Meyer is another club banga that will thump your stereo system. Who I Am addresses all the haters, what’s a mixtape without one of those track? You got to have one of those, it’s mandatory.
Six Reasons lets it all hang out on 80’s Baby. By far the best project I’ve heard from him. The production have good, the features weren’t too heavy. Of course him teaming up with Dj Skee again didn’t hurt. Overall this mixtape was a quality listen.
I won’t sugar coat it and tell you it’s for everybody, because it’s not. You either vibe with it or you don’t. It all depends on what your cup of tea is.
