The Barclays Center is officially open for business, which means the Brooklyn Nets have officially moved from New Jersey to Brooklyn. A lot has been made of Jay-Z showing his face all over the place as if he was the main reason for the move. Must people know Jay-Z doesn’t own much of the Nets, because quite frankly the owner is a Russian Billionaire.
Now, apparently, folks clowning Jay about this simple fact, has obviously bothered him, because he addressed the situation in one of his latest shows. The moment seen on the video, is one of the few times you actually get to see & hear, Jay in the mist of humility.
“I look in the paper and I see them talking’he only owns 1/15th of…first of I don’t know where they get that number from. But I’m cool with it. I know it’s not about me it’s about y’all. It’s not personal to me. They know if you see me standing here, they know it’s possible to achieve great things and will continue to do so. Don’t let anybody diminish your accomplishments.” Jay-Z
Look, I’m not going to clown Jay. The bottom line is, I think every person would love to own a piece of their favorite team, more so, their hometown team. Am I lying? I’m speaking the truth! Regardless of his percentage of ownership, Jay-Z is from Brooklyn, and he is part of a “team,” that brought an NBA team to his hometown.
Although, Jay brings a lot of the criticism on himself, lets step aside from the criticism for a few moments, and congratulate him on a remarkable accomplishment.
Congratulations…
